Gamer Health: Ask a Gamer MD

The great irony of my life is that those who know me as a doctor find it nearly impossible to believe that I am a lifelong gamer, and those who know me as a lifelong gamer find it nearly impossible to believe that I am a doctor. And yet, both facts are indeed true and I truly believe that my love of videogames at a young age fostered in me an imagination, love of technology, and facility with eye hand coordination that I would later apply to becoming a surgeon. When I am not gaming, I am operating. When I am not operating, I am gaming. In this way, I am happy to act as a source of Gamer health related experience for gamerfitnation. Please submit any game or medical related questions here and I will do my very best to answer them when I put down both my controllers and my scalpels.

    Ight I got a question for you! I’m 6’2 and work out about 6 days a week doing Cardio and weight training everyday for about an 1 hr or 1:30 tops. How many calories and how many grams of protein should i consume in a day to reach my target weight of 190 pounds since i weigh about 177 to 179 right now?
