Games That Will Get Shafted For Game Of The Year 2011

2011 has seen a lot of great games released with most of them being herald by our writers and others around of the industry. With all of these great games releasing I thought about titles that I felt personally were deserving of GOTY and other great honors from the industry.

LittleBigPlanet 2

Media Molecule s sequel to their award winning create, play, and share ideal is a title that all gamers on the PS3 should really enjoy. This game is absolutely great and the creativity within the world of LittleBigPlanet shows how innovative gamers can be. It s a title that shouldn t be overlooked but because it doesn t appeal to the mass majority of gamers I feel that it will.

Gears 3

Epic games end to the Gears of war trilogy has already been getting the shaft. This game has already gotten the shaft from critics with the title not even receiving a nomination for the 2011 Spike Video Game awards. In my personal opinion this is a title that I feel will repeatedly get the boot and I feel that it doesn t deserve to. It had a ton of great moments and features that rival many other AAA games.

Portal 2

Portal was a great game and Portal 2 looked to improve on everything that its predecessor did in a much bigger and better way. This is a title that has tons of potential and I hope that it wins tons of Game of the year nominations. The problem about this is that I feel it won t win and will get the shaft in some of the more popular award shows.

Dead Space 2

Visceral games Dead Space 2 is a title that I really enjoyed. I reviewed the game when it was released and I enjoyed every minute of the game. It maintained that creepy presence that one could expect from a game of this prestige and it improved by adding a fun multiplayer component.

L.A. Noire

L.A Noire is a title that many people feel was released as an unfinished product and since it s released have seen the developers disbanded. Now regardless of what people may say or think this was a great title that used very intuitive motion capture techniques to show off the drama and acting that went into the game.

Infamous 2

Sucker Punch released a great action title earlier this year. I really feel as though this is may be game of the year to some people but to others I feel that it wasn t as good as they had expected. This title received really good and fair reviews, but I feel that it is at least deserving of some nominations if not the greatest of them all.

Forza 4

Forza 4 is a great racing title that rivals Gran Turismo 5. This game has done and shown that there are a ton of things that it can do better than its rival. The better use of motion controls shows how you can become more immerse in the game and actually feel like you are driving. The racing and track designs in the game are really well done and the online is a pretty fun experience.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Edios Montreal created a great game earlier this year with the hit title Deus Ex: Human Revolution the title received a 9 from yours truly and I have to say that the game is really that great. The story is great because you take part in a sci-fi espionage drama with great characters and the scenery really helps bring out the atmosphere the developers were trying to portray. A title that is well deserving of game of the year by some will sadly be shafted by many.

Assassins Creed Revelations

The recently released Assassins Creed Revelations is a title that I feel most people will overlook. The title is great with the multiplayer, story, and gameplay to make even the greatest games quiver in fear. Master Assassin Ezio will be sad to know that I feel he will be getting shafted in trying to defeat the Templars to get his game of the year nod.

Well I want to bring it to you the gamers. What games do you feel will get shafted in the industry selection for games of the years?
