UPDATE: Franchise creator Ed Boon said on twitter today that at E3 they plan to reveal 2 brand new characters to the franchise. When a fan asked whether we’d see new characters or not in the game Boon responded with “Yes! Two of my new favourites will be at E3!”

ORIGINAL: Today Warner Bros. has unveiled their newest game and the newest installment into the Mortal Kombat legacy ‘Mortal Kombat X.’  Below is the trailer that Warner Bros. released along with this announcement.

This beautifully brutal trailer highlights the return of many gameplay mechanics from previous Mortal Kombat games. X-Rays of your bone crushing moves along with using the environment of the level to aid in your fight have also been included. The trailer features a duel between the eternal rivalry of Sub-Zero and Scorpion and shows how this game combines martial arts fighting styles with special magical abilities that can also be used.

Legends Say These Two Are Still Fighting

While never fully reaching the success that it had in the 1990′s Mortal Kombat still remains to this day as one of the best most iconic fighters around. Not to mention having a decently credible movie out there (looking at your Mario Brothers movie).

Mortal Kombat X will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game is also expected to be on the show floor at E3 next week.

So what do you think, are you excited to see the return of Mortal Kombat? Would you want to pick up this game? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
