Pokemon X and Y has been out for a while now and the creators of the game are giving away a Vivillon with a new color pattern to celebrate the 100,000,000th Pokemon traded through the Global Trade Station.  That’s a lot of Pokemon!  The new fancy pattern is unable in the game itself and must be received in order to acquire it.

On the official Pokemon webpage you must complete these steps in order to claim your new Vivillon.

  1. Connect your Nintendo 3DS system to the Internet.

  2. Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.

  3. Select Receive Gift, then Yes.

  4. Select Get Via Internet, then Yes.

  5. Watch as you receive Fancy Pattern Vivillon!

  6. Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokémon Center to receive your Vivillon.

  7. Be sure to save your game

In addition to this you can find all the latest Pokemon news on the website as well as download a client to play the popular trading card game online, and learn more about their upcoming orchestral tour that is being held in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.

All of this of course comes before the release of the new remakes of Generation three Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.  These title will be release in November of this year and bring with it new upcoming mega evolutions such as mega Swampert and Mega Sceptile!  That’s only the tip of the iceberg as it is very likely more mega evolutions may yet be revealed which could shake up the competitive scene as some of the previous mega-evolutions had to be banned from standard play for being too good.  I’m looking at you Mega Gengar.

It’s great to see promotional events to help stem the tide of boredom that may develop between new releases and Pokemon is showing it knows what it is doing to keep the franchise fresh and alive for now and the foreseeable future.
