Boss Battle: Beat the Bowser Belly Fat
Boss battles are a killer part of video games and a killer part of our own lives. In this first part of a Boss Battles series, we will give you advice on how to fight the villains challenging your own body so you can get GamerFit! To start, we are going to give you some tips on how to combat Bowser Belly Fat and brick it up.
Bowser Belly Fat: Burn Some Belly Fat with Fire Flowers
Mario can devour a fire flower to bring on the burn, so why not burn off some of your belly fat, without creating mass amounts of smoke of course! There are many healthy foods out there that have a natural ability to help you beat your boss battle with the Bowser Belly.
Cranberries - A half cup of cranberries only amounts to about 25 calories, making it a very tasty snack or addition to oatmeal, salad, etc. These little guys are also packed with plenty of dietary fiber to help flush out your system. Adding to their benefits is the fact that not only can they help you burn belly fat, they can also help make your heart healthy.
Ginger- Ginger is a nice addition to just about any meal. It also tastes great in tea (which will be featured later on in our discussion) and has plenty of benefits for you to enjoy. One of ginger’s key fat-burning factors is that it acts as a metabolism booster, which helps you burn calories faster. To make the deal even sweeter, ginger also acts as a food that can help keep your digestive system happy and healthy.
Lemon - Adding lemon or lemon juice to your meals and drinks can be a beneficial part of beating your belly fat. It has a remarkably low amount of calories, and has a strong enough flavor to make a little go a long way. Lemon can be substituted for a wide variety of sauces and flavorings, and it can also be added to water and tea to help with some forms of detox.
Keep in mind, none of these fire flowers can fight the Bowser Belly boss battle alone. These are merely power-ups to help you when you implement other strategies, including exercise and a balanced diet, to your plan of attack.
Bowser Belly Fat: Get Your 1-Up With Green Tea
Green tea has been rapidly gaining ground in the world of health. This light and delightful drink can be easily added into any daily routine and can give a number of benefits to help you with your Bowser Belly boss battle.
Due to the lack of processing it goes through, green tea is rich in catechins, which are powerful antioxidants that can help boost your body up against disease. Blood sugar, blood pressure, relaxation, brain health, heart health — all of these see great benefits from regularly drinking green tea.
Green tea also has a good amount of metabolism-enhancing substances to help you beat the Bowser Belly. If you are looking to change your diet, substituting green tea for soda and other sugary drinks is a pretty decent choice. If it’s not sweet enough for you, add honey or ginger instead of sugar in order to sweeten things up.
Much like the fire flower foods, green tea will not work on its own to win against the Bowser Belly fat boss battle. You need to implement some fitness goals with a healthy diet in order to fully win the battle.
Bowser Belly Fat: Star Power Cardio
Cardio exercises are a great way to help you burn fat and get your belly - and body - in shape as well. It is a simple, yet often overlooked, way of staying fit and burning excess body fat. It can range from a leisurely walk to a running schedule that will build you up to face your boss battle.
There are various cardio-related exercises recommended for those who are looking for a way to burn excess belly fat. Running and walking are a couple of the more obvious ways to incorporate cardio into your exercise routine. This could be done out on the street, in a track, or on a treadmill or elliptical machine. As you run, your body will begin burning some of your built-up body fat in order to give you the fuel you need to keep moving.
Swimming, biking, and hiking are other great sources of physical activity to help you beat back body fat. You will also have the benefit of bulking up some of your muscles while trimming your tummy.
Be sure to use a variety of different cardio exercises when you work out. Try switching it up, and be sure to work different parts of your body while not overworking it in the process.
Bowser Belly Fat: Bulk up Muscle
Our final tip against the boss battle against the Bowser Belly is to do plenty of exercises to build up muscle to replace the fat. Much like cardio, there are a few ways you can go about building up this muscle.
Crunches — This is probably one of the more obvious and more simple ways to burn belly fat and gain muscle. Proper execution of crunches is highly beneficial to your workout. A proper crunch can be executed by lying on your back while keeping your knees at a ninety degree angle. Keep your hands behind your back as you bring your head and core up by about 45 degrees. If you go any higher than 45 degrees, you are doing a sit up rather than a crunch.
Planks — This pastime fad is actually a very useful exercise technique. While there are a few different ways to plank, one of the more popular ways is to start by getting into the military push-up pose. Stretch your toes out beneath you (You will be using the flats of your toes to keep yourself up). Lay your forearms down so your arms and body all make a straight line when extended. When you are ready, rise up on your toes and your arms. If it is your first time planking, try staying in the pose for only fifteen to thirty seconds. If done correctly, you should be able to lie a broom straight along your back. You don’t want to let your core droop while doing this exercise.
Core-Based Yoga — Yoga is a great way of relaxing, burning fat, and building muscle. There are yoga poses for just about every part of the body, but for this boss battle, you will be wanting to focus on the ones that tone your core. Some of the poses that can help you lose belly fat include the Boat Pose, Dolphin Pose, and Happy Baby Pose.
As mentioned earlier, there are many different workouts you can use to tone your belly and abs. Much like cardio, you should mix up the kinds of exercises you do, and always be eating a balanced diet alongside your workout regime. Everyone is different; try out as many different kinds of exercises as you can in order to find the perfect ones for you. Eating the right balance of food and doing routine exercise is key to beating Bowser Belly fat. With the right combination of both, you’ll be ready to take on Mario and the world!
