Freaky Fashion: Black/Blue or White/Gold Dress of Gaming

Freaky Fashion

So, over the past few days there has been a huge debate over a certain dress on the web. Is it blue and black, or is it white and gold? It is a pretty nifty piece of freaky fashion. We here at GamerFitnation have no “official” answer for you, but we do know this dress made us do multiple double takes. Which got us thinking, haven’t there been quite a few video game characters whose sense of style made us all do a double take? We’re here to treat you to some hilarious, and sometimes strange, freaky fashion choices made by our friends in the virtual world.

Freaky Fashion: Tingle’s Green Jumpsuit

"Is that a middle-age man in a green jumpsuit and red undies?...Why yes, yes it is,"

“Is that a middle-age man in a green jumpsuit and red undies?…Why yes, yes it is,”

Tingle has made appearances in quite a few Legend of Zelda titles, and he never gets old. Whether you know what his character is like or not, his outfit is sure to make your head turn.

Freaky Fashion: What Exactly is the King of all Cosmos Wearing?

Is that a headpiece or part of his head?

Is that a headpiece or part of his head?

On top of his skin tight top, massive flowing cape, and outrageous white collar, players of any Katamari game are faced with the head of The King of all Cosmos, leaving many who encounter him to wonder what the heck is on his head. It also leaves you wondering how you could possibly divert your eyes from such a sight.

Freaky Fashion: The Great Mighty…What?

Pile of Poo or never ending mountain of melting chocolate?

Pile of Poo or never ending mountain of melting chocolate?

The Great Mighty Poo, while technically a character that goes around in the nude, is a cast member of the Conker video games. When first time players of the game encountered this massive mound, I can assume that a few of them thought (or hoped) that this guy was a mound of chocolate…until he started his song of course.

Freaky Fashion: Lightning + Moogles = WTF?

Swap Lightning's bad ass attire for something a little more cuddly.

Swap Lightning’s bad ass attire for something a little more cuddly.

If you have played Final Fantasy XIII, then you know that its title character, Lightning, has a pretty hard exterior. She holds love for her sister and others deep down, but rarely lets it show on the outside. That is why when players get the option to purchase a Moogle dress in a DLC for Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns, their jaws tend to hit the floor.

Freaky Fashion: The Fabulous Falbi

For Falbi, a little goes a long way.

For Falbi, a little goes a long way.

Another member of the Legend of Zelda franchise, Falbi runs a mini game in Twilight Princess. This guy, despite having a bit of a bulging belly, goes for a short top look certain to cause players to backtrack if they happen to accidentally run past him. In a part of Hyrule that does not seem to get many visitors, you’ve got to have something to catch the customers eye.

Freaky Fashion: Zack Knows Latex is the Next Big Thing

Silver jumpsuit, or high tech reflection suit?

Silver jumpsuit, or high tech reflection suit?

In the Dead or Alive series, you will encounter a character named Zack. He is a DJ who is also self trained in boxing. Zack clearly knows that one way to win a fight, is to distract the enemy. One of his signature outfits is a silver, latex bodysuit that could potentially blind the eyes of his opponents if enough lights were shined on it. Complete with an antenna and red goggles, this guy clearly knows what’s up.

Freaky Fashion: Let’s Not Forget Scissorman’s Drastic Change

I guess Scissorman figured some longer legs would help him catch people.

I guess Scissorman figured some longer legs would help him catch people.

Players who took part in the original Clock Tower game knew the Scissorman as a short, creepy, slightly hunched over man wielding massive scissors. In Clock Tower 2, he stayed pretty much the same. In Clock Tower 3, however, players got quite the eye popping surprise when Scissorman first walked on screen. Not only has his size and demeanor been changed, but he now wears a rather flashy and flamboyant outfit.

Freaky Fashion: The Shock of Miror B

This guy's first step into the game had players glued to the gold.

This guy’s first step into the game had players glued to the gold.

Pokemon games have had plenty of strange Pokemon, but hardly any characters whose physical appearance could make trainers pause in shock. That is, of course, until Miror B entered the scene in both Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon Gale of Darkness. While his outfit in Gale of Darkness was nearly just out there and shocking, the glitz, gold, and glamor he wore in Colosseum had more of a shock value due to the fact no one was expecting it at all.
