Microsoft E3 2015: GFN Reacts

by on June 19, 2015

Press conferences are a major part of the E3 experience. Game companies and developers get a chance to try to take hold of as much spotlight they can in order to get the fans as hyped as possible for what they have in store for the next year in gaming. During the past couple of E3 conferences, Microsoft has been a bit lacking in terms of hype material. Some conferences have actually managed to fuel a couple of rage fits directed towards the company. For the most part, they have listened to the fans in their outcry and have attempted to correct business ideas that wound up backfiring.

Microsoft had some pretty neat tricks up their sleeves at their E3 2015 press conference.

Microsoft had some pretty neat tricks up their sleeves at their E3 2015 press conference.

This year’s E3 press conference with Microsoft went better than more recent years. They showed off some titles that appear to have great promise. Some titles, like Cuphead, are exceptionally unique and interesting and others are continuations of already beloved game franchises. Microsoft has also made the major move to offer a free service that will essentially grant backwards compatibility to Xbox One. Making this possible will allow gamers to migrate away from the Xbox 360 and over to the Xbox One without losing money over the games that they purchased on the prior system.

While it may not sound like much, it is a big jump from how some conferences in the past have gone, especially when Xbox One was announced and the initial features were mostly against what gamers wanted in their system. Our very own Antwand “BLACKBIBLE” Pearman and Tamika “REDinFamy” Moultrie hit the floor after the Microsoft conference in order to share their opinions on how the gaming company did in this years conference. Check it out and feel free to tell us what you thought of the conference in the comments!
